WHAT IS PRIDE?
Have you heard your child talking about PRIDE or "wearing their color" or Easter Bunnies, Dragons, Penguins, Inchworms and Ravens and maybe you are not sure what it is all about??? Let us try to explain it to you.....
We have randomly divided the entire school into 5 PRIDE teams. The teams represent each letter of the word PRIDE. The teams are: Purple Penguins, Red Ravens, Iceblue Inchworms, Dark Green Dragons and Electric blue Easter Bunnies. The students in the teams selected their color and mascot as well as team leaders. Each team is assigned a month out of the school year to plan and execute some type of community service project. Each team selects their own project with input from all of the members of the team. There is a lot of team building, collaborate planning and execution going on across the grade levels. We've seen our students wear their colors with PRIDE and participate with PRIDE in the monthly projects.
Why are we doing this? Well, there is nothing better than a student who takes pride in all they do. Not only that, our students are learning about how good it feels to help others, even in the smallest of ways. We are seeing the PRIDE spreading throughout the school through their teams and teamwork and working towards a common goal.
